School/Economy Study Group Visits BBS in Oberhausen

About 25 teachers from schools in Oberhausen, the head of the school/economy study group as well as Elisabeth Schulte of UVG UnternehmerverbandsGruppe (em-ployers’ association) visited us at our location in Oberhausen on 10 June 2008.

Dieter Schlautmann, training officer, and Peter Weißenfels, managing director of Babcock Fertigungszentrum GmbH, welcomed the guests and presented the mechanical treatment, welding engineering, erection and testing divisions during a tour of the manufacturing centre.

The school/economy study group, Oberhausen, of UVG Unternehmerverbands-Gruppe has for many years organized plant visits and brought together teachers and enterprises. Taking a look behind the scenes of the companies, teachers get a realistic idea of the economic world. “This measure offers us as employer the opportunity to establish contact with potential junior staff at an early stage and to inform the young people of the demands of working life”, Dieter Schlautmann explained the background of the measure.
